To Be or Not to Be

Hello Everyone,
I have to share a silly short story of my Son David as he was becoming a young tween. It has to do with the title I chose 'To Be or Not to Be'.  During those tween years I was the diciplinary parent and when he would misbehave..in my serious voice I would say "Boy, you better act right".  And he would say "To be or not to be that is the question" as he would do a silly pose pointing his finger in the air acting this scene..  When I saw him do this the first time I got even more upset and would tell him not to disrespect his Mother.  He would listen then say Mom you taught me right from wrong I will do what is right.  Then he would pose and say it again and we would both laugh and he would give me a hug.    He has always had a fun and silly side to him growing up and now is an adult of 35 years yesterday August 30th.  So.... I choose this title with sweet memories and giggles.  By the way...he still does this when I remind him he needs to act right...

Playing with some 'Pink Paislee' emblishments, design paper and twine, a stamp by Mary Vogel Lozinak at Pink Flamingo61 on Etsty called 'Skinnie Minnie' and the "Be" sentiment was already on the paper design from K & Company.  My flowers are from Spellbinders 'Rose Creations'.

Hello Everyone...
Happy Monday... good tidings on starting  a new week.
This is one of my favorite Bible scriptures.

Sometimes I just need to read/say things more than once....just to get them to soak in...watering that mustard seed of faith to grow stronger roots into the good things God continually offers/tells/gives me daily. The news announcer may share all...the bad news he is paid to collect but I will believe in the report of the Lord. So...I sprinkle good tidings forward to you...
"The Lord bless you and keep you; the Lord make his face shine upon you and be gracious to you; the Lord turn his face toward you and give you peace." Numbers 6:24-26

Card:
The flowers on this project are my usual spiral flowers...I just decided to fold down the edge before I twisted them into shape..the paper was not cardstock so it was easier to work with. The butterfly and shadows are from McGill punches..the card edge is diecut with Martha Stewart.  The background papers were embossed with Cuttlebug folders.

Liebster Blog Award and Sharing the Blog Love...

Hello Everyone,
Happy Saturday to you...wanting to take this particular time to gratefully thank Barbara Rankin and her Blog 'Black Hole Art Studio' for honoring me with  the' Liebster Blog' award. I love to visit her Blog regularly for tips, tricks and inspiration and of course her beautiful projects.  And I love that Barbara loves to share and inspire her love for arts.
I have seen Blog awards on several Blogs while Blog Hopping and it makes the heart happy to know there are growing Artisan Bloggers who care and want to encourage new Bloggers on the journey to their love for the arts. So I would love to do the same and share this 'Liebster Blog' award with a couple of other Bloggers that have inspired me to grow and keep on keeping on through their blogs and inspiration. But before I do here is what I found the 'Liebster Blog' award entails.

What is the Liebster Award?

Well. . .the origins of the Liebster Blog award are somewhat unclear and this seems to be blog folklore but it goes like this:

"Some time (in the recent past), somewhere (rumor has it that it might be Germany), someone (I guessing he/she was named Liebster) decided to do something nice for a whole lot of bloggers and started the Liebster Blog Award. It’s an award you receive, but it is also an award that you give."

Liebster is a German word so  translated it from a few sources - it means favorite, sweetheart, beloved, darling.

If you receive a Liebster Blog Award you are asked to choose 3-5 other bloggers and send them one as well. It is an award meant to highlight smaller blogs - less than 200 followers. Let them know that we care and are reading. The idea is that the blogger receiving the award links back to the blogger who awarded him/her, and then chooses 3-5 people to send the award to. There is no obligation to continue this award. It is a lovely way to share the love and also a way of introducing other bloggers to the blogs you enjoy.

Here are the blogs I would like
to pass the love on to:
                       Sylvia Anderson        Blog------  Kard Krazy
Roxy Miravalle         Blog------  Roxy's Craft Blog
Joy Lynn                    Blog------ Joyful Imperfections Handmade Cards

Thank you all for supporting, inspiring and encouraging me to take my creativity to another level.

Until next time.

Working at Frugal

Hello Everyone,
This Frugal Grannie is playing with the 'postcard blade scissor' to come up with these mini-blossums.
*********************************************
The past few weeks I have been working on organizing my craftroom. I have increased my stock of tools, papers and emblishments within the past year. And for the life of me every time I start I get distracted and get a card idea with some of the things I am trying to move to a new spot and then start making a card forgetting about the organizing.  Then when I finished I wind up making a bigger mess.
I have been thinking I really need to dicipline myself and not buy anything new for at least 3 months if not more. It's hard to stay diciplined when you Blog Hop and see all the pretty ribbons, stamps, sprays & beautiful collection of design papers.  It's easy to get pulled into all that...I need to use up the beautiful stock of things I am blessed to have already.  And now that I have found Pinterest so many more ideas are there to try with what I already have. Like I did with this card...using the one inch wide Cuttlebug embossing folder and making score lines with my Martha Steward Scoreboard.
Played with the Scoredboard on the background on this card.

This Frugal Grannie is going to work on standing by her name and stay on track of being a frugal and green Grannie...so I hope you enjoy seeing new ways of using tools that are on hand and  they inspire you.
Until next time...over and out..be safe

Taste and See

Hello, Everyone

Time Can Be A River of Delights With God on Your Side...

I sit...thinking things around seem to be getting worse.. then..I ponder..it is said actions speak louder than words.....So..I meditate in prayer because the world and choices some people are making is hovering a dark cloud over the good that is still around and I am still able to see it..the goodness that comes forth from the Holy Word of God. It brings true inner peace and joy to my heart that the creator of all...shows me daily as I seek to find the blessings and treasure He has left me/us.

God's love is boundless, reaching to the heavens (Psalm 36:5); it is priceless & unfailing (Psalm 36:7). His word overflows with a river of delights: love (Psalm 36:5) perservation (Psalm 36:6), refuge (Psalm 36:7), abundance (Psalm 36:8) and life (Psalm 36:9).
Be blessed today and know you are loved. God is offering you a drink from his river of everlasting waters ...a taste of all He desires to lavish on you.
Until next time...this Frugal Grannie is out.

Delightful Sweets

Hi, Everybody
Sharing some delightful sweets .
Playing with cordboard and was determined to make my favorite donut...a yummy coconut topped cake donut and a cupcake.
As I was working on the process of putting together the pieces to make these delightful sweets I wasn't sure what I was going to do with them. Then when I finished the projects I glanced at one of  my mini tea sets displayed in the livingroom and saw they were the perfect size for the plates.

Mini-cupcake

I have a collection of minature tea sets and have most of them in a curio cabinet with a couple displayed on my coffee tables here and there.
I am going to send one to my Aunt in Florida who got me into collecting tea sets.  She had given my mother a beautiful  tiny miniature tea set which she handed down to me when I got my home years ago.

My grand-daughter and son loved them when they saw them this weekend.  I hope you did too.
I love hearing from you try to leave a comment.

A play with Corrugated Cordboard

Hello Everyone,

This card has to do with wanting to get a burlap look on a flower from corrugated cordboard. This Frugal Grannie has to make do... so this is what I came up with to get the look. It was a little stiff at first to maniuplate but once I played with it in my hand creasing the strip in half, swirling, twisting and voila slowly turned it into a flower.  Here is a Post on my Blog called 'Green with Joy' that shows you 'How-to' make these cordboard flowers. I think  these with the corrugated side showing came out really well. The 'How-to Green with Joy' shows them made from the smooth side of cordboard paper and how you can fancy them up.
I had seen a beautiful burlap flower a fellow blogger made that was gorgeous. Think I'll be sticking to corrugated cordboard for now. Well, at least until I can get some burlap with a discount coupon.

I used Pink Paislee- Daily Junque Collection paper along with a stamp called 'Skinny Minnie' from PinkFlamingo61 stamps. I blinged her up a little in her funky chic way..laugh out loud..I just love this stamp.

I hope you enjoyed..the idea of playing with a different texture to get the look you want.

Until next time...this Frugal Grannie is over and out.

"Home Sweet Home"

Hi, Everyone
"Home Sweet Home"
"There is no place like home"...and the other famous saying.."Home is where the heart is". Something about saying those words at the right moment when we are content and with passion is soothing to the soul.

I am sharing a card I made for a special friend who I will be giving crystal candle holders to as a 'Just Because' gift. She is always sharing inspirational words for married couples on cultivating their love.  I am single but hearing her seeds of maritial growth  are beautiful and sincere. Some of the design is from Graphic 45 paper collection and when I saw this lovely couple it made me think of her. This is the inside of the mini card/album. And the other cutout words came from K&Company.

This is the cover with more cutout pieces from Graphic 45.  I just love their design paper collections they are so beautiful.
This is a page from the inside with a butterfly cutout from Graphic 45.
The more I play with my embossing folders the more I am learning how to use those thin/single embossing strips and add score lines to give the design a more finished and elegant look.

 Until next time...
Enjoy life.. your Home Sweet Home..there is no place like home...home is where your heart is.. make it your haven for you and your family.

Timeless

Hi, Everyone
Playing with my 'Steampunk Steam Engine' stamp from Viva Las Vegas...I love how certain stamp collections take me to different stages of creativity.  These just happen to be a new collection I am learning to play with in taking my creativity to another level.

'Steampunk Steam Engine' stamp by Viva Las Vegas
As, I am building my stamp collection I find there are stamp collections that touch a special place in my heart, there are some girlee ones I love to collect, some that are darn cute and I just have to have.
This past week as I have been organizing all my stamps and deciding where I wanted to take my next step of creativity I found  I want to grow  my newly started 'Viva Las Vegas Stamps' collection.  Not only because I love how they take my mind, heart & creativity to a different stage, but because I have come to learn more about the actual artist that have created these through their Blogs and Facebook pages.   Their Blogs are PinkFlamingo with Mary Vogel Lozinak and Life Imitates Doodles with Sandra Strait.
Don't forget Viva Las Vegas stamps is having Free Shipping & Handling through August 5th..I need to put in another order.

I love making cards and am amazed how stamps as well as design papers activate my creativity...and I love it.

As you see..and have seen if you follow my Blog that my creativity is where my heart is.  So I will share a little bit of a poem I wrote several years ago.

Growing in God

Don't mistake my smile for flirtiness...But the Joy created in me by my Lord God who carries me through tough times.
Don't mistake my kindness for scratch my back I'll scratch yours...But for the open arms the Lord God has shown and created in me.
Don't mistake my meekness for weakness...But produced by the grace of God and his gentleness he has shown me.
Don't mistake my faith for ignorance...But as my walking testimony that my Lord God and Savior hears and answered my prayers.
Don't mistake my peace and self-control as a wimp before you...But as a child of God who has been on the other side and now sees the light & goodness of God as he has drawn me in with his loving-kindness.

We are all a work in progress...I choose to work on and have character & virtues like Jesus Christ who gives his fruit of his spirit if you ask him into your life.  'Trust & Try & God WILL SUPRISE YOU!...I have and found he is true  and 'Timeless' to his Holy Word..
know the Lord God loves us through our imperfections.

Until next time...
