Shabby Chic with a Twist

Rope Player Ruth -Digi Image Created by JenLee- DigiStamps4Joy

Hello My Lovelies...

I am on a Shabby Chic roll with a fun twist well I guess you can call this Southwestern Chic as I use some of my recycled cardboard strip paper roses to showcase 'Rope Player Ruth' Digital image created by JenLee available in the DigiStamps4Joy Shop. I colored her with Faber-Castell Pencils and touches of white and blue gel pens. You can learn how to make my Paper Roses on my Blog post. I pulled out some of my hoarded stash of  crafty things of  blues some being my Martha Stewart air dry clay silicone mold designs. I love these and make so many in advance before the clay dries in my sealed containers(done that before)...also if you want a tip on changing the color of air dry clay you can check out my Tips Tricks and Techniques posting.  My beautiful blue butterflies are actually a border from K & Company that are wonderfully made so I could fuzzy cut individually without distorting the shapes.  My blue string and some of my multitude of various blues design papers and bling.

I embossed the brown Core'dinations Design Paper with an Anna Griffin/Cuttlebug/Acanthus folder, sanded it...topped it with a couple of Spellbinders Nestabilities & Shapebilities Timeless Rectangle, Decorative Labels Twenty-Eight and the leafs from Bitty Blossoms. Extra embellishments are Joanna Sheen Curly Flourish and Spring Blossom, Recollections bling and blue string from my stash. Distressed with brown Staz On, Stampendous Embossing Powder/Shabby Blue, Ranger Liquid Pearls, Blue stickles.

Girls with Swords

Spiritual Weapons(Bracelet) Digital Image - DigiStamps4Joy - Created by Margy
Hello My Lovelies...

I am here today this Friday sharing with you a couple of things one this special card made with this inspirational image called 'Spiritual Weapons'  created by Margy one of the Designers and Owner of DigiStamps4Joy Shop.

I also wanted to take this opportunity to share why this image has a special impact on me as a  Christian. It tickled at my creativity...when I first saw this image and knew I wanted it because of the true meaning behind it. Also, because I have been trying to be more dedicated on putting on my armor of God  daily just like I put on my earrings each morning.

The sentiment 'Girls with Swords' is a title of a book and bible study by Lisa Bevere; Teaching: How to carry your cross like a Hero.  This study is being offered at my church right now. The thought of swords led my thoughts to violence which made me kind of hesitate at first...but Because God is my Hero I had to at least take a listen and/or look into.  Once I listened to the preview that I have attached above...I knew I wanted to look into the Study even more as a Woman with many hats I want to be able to stand strong, firm, bold and brave in God with his word as my sword against the evil one who keeps attacking me and my family. Insecurity shook me for a moment but...I did and have come to know that as I grow closer in trust and in faith through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior my stumbling blocks have...become stepping stones. I want to be a better person as a Mother, Grandmother, Sister, Daughter and Friend and let Jesus' light shine.

In my young Christian walk I did read about the Armor of God...and as much as I hate to admit...It is now that I am finally soaking in and learning the full meaning in power and authority God gives us in his armor. I am so blessed to see now how God preps us as his soldiers with armor to fully downcast the evil one...as we trust him with his holy word/sword of truth to do what he says as we stand firm in Him.

Here is the Biblical Scripture that pertains to our spiritual weapons God has given us.
Ephesians 6:10-18(New International Version)
Finally, be strong in the Lord and in his mighty power.  Put on the full armor of God so that you can take your stand against the devil's schemes. For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms.  Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you have done everything, to stand.  Stand firm then, with the belt of truth buckled around your waist, with the breastplate of righteousness in place, and with your feet fitted with the readiness that comes from the gospel of peace.  In addition to all this, take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming arrows of the evil one. Take the helmet of salvation and the sword of the spirit, which the word of God.  And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the saints.

The Bible Study 'Girls with Swords' is stilling going on and it is enriching and empowering me to a better life's journey in the Lord tremendously. I hope you look into the book if a study is not available.

Hello Everyone,

I am sharing my style and love for Shabby Chic/Vintage elegance. The showcased 'Faberge Egg' image I used was  created by Margy at DigiStamps4Joy Store. It screamed my name tickling my creativity to give it touches of my love for Shabby Chic/Vintage elegance.

Sharing a Valentine card I made for my Niece who is 1 year old. Her first Valentine card and from her Auntie...wish I could be there to see her open her special package and have that happy heart memory.

Sweet as Honey - Monthly Freebie Friday

Hello Everyone,
It is the first Friday of the Month and time for Freebie Digi-Friday at DigiStamps4Joy. It is a honey of a deal...heee.  The image is this 'Be My Honey' image. To get the image just go to the DigiStamps4Joy Shop and sign in/or register yourself and put it in your cart. It will be available as a Freebie February 7 - 9, 2014.
http://www.digistamps4joy.co.za/eshop/

I had fun designing my card for this sweet image which I colored with Spectrum Noir pens. I stamped 'be mine' randomly on my  K & Company design paper, embossed with Anna Griffin/Cuttlebug Hearts folder then put clear embossing power to give it some sheen. I made my flowers out of the same design paper that I had stamped and used a Recollections Large and Small Flower punch and embellished with some bling.  And to give it a touch of Valentine love I used the Spellbinders Nestabilities - Scalloped heart. The heart charm was given a gold tone with Ranger yellow alcohol ink spray.
++++++
I invite you go by the DigiStamps4Joy Blog and see all the inspiration by the Design Team and once you get the Freebie you can get those creativity juices going and join in on the current DigiStamps4Joy - Heart-Challenge #85. It will be open from Feb. 4 - Feb. 18th.  Hope to see you there.

Sending Smiles...

Hello Everyone,

Sharing a card I made for a special friend for Valentine's Day.  This sweet Digital image is called 'Faythe' available at Tiddly Inks.  I merged it with another Freebie I got a while back from Tiddly Inks. They look so pretty together...don't you think. Merging digital images is something new I am learning to do and perfect. What is so awesome is these come in Digital or Rubber Stamps. I fell in love with these a while back and this was my first adorable image to get. I hope you go by and visit the store...so many whimsical, fun and adorable images and sentiments to choose from. There are even some FREEBIES you can pick up.

I hope you enjoyed my fun with Faythe...I had fun coloring her with my Spectrum Noir pens. I am still perfecting my coloring skills. I love Clean and Simple cards (CAS) but have a hard time deciplining myself to stay that route. I consider this card to be CAS but does the bow make it NOT. I get confused on that part.  I used one of my Anna Griffin/Cuttlebug folders to emboss the background, Spellbinders Nestabilities Scallop hearts and ribbon from my stash.

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges:
Tidddly Inks #126 - Love is in the Air
Artistic Inspirations #77 - Anything/Hearts
Cutie Pie Challenge #62 - Cutie Pie Valentie
Eureka Stamps #75 - Red & Pink & White
